Introduction on Clean Energy: Necessity, Challenges and Prospects

Fossil fuel reserves formed million years ago, yet are only used for around 200 years ago and now they are emptying very quickly. According to scientists, with the current rate of usage, oil will end by 2052, gas by 2060, and coal will last till 2090. However, according to BP (a British multinational oil and gas company), The world has 53.3 years left to find an alternative to oil before current proved reserves run dry. These all facts depict the need for some additional sources to make industries run. But why is there a need to switch towards clean energy? what are the prospects of adopting clean energy? what are hurdles/hurdling in the way of clean energy? and how are some countries working harder to achieve carbon neutrality? This essay will describe/answer/dwell upon these questions in detail. Clean energy is energy that is produced through environment friendly methods. Moreover, it is a renewable source of energy that is constantly replenished. Reduced agriculture productivity, loss of life and infrastructure, and shrinking of non-renewable sources necessitates that clean energy is only resort available to not only make industries but also to coup environmental calamities. The adoption of clean energy will provide energy security, economic development, and sustainable power that will save natural resources. On the contrary, non-renewable energy monopoly, lack of subsidies for clean energy, and the high initial cost of installation are some of the challenges in the way of clean energy. Though there are several hurdles in the installation of clean energy yet these hurdles can be tackled with proper measures.
