Q: Use any FIVE of the following idioms in sentences to make their meaning clear:

(i) Spirit away
Meaning:
Use in sentence: The police spirited away the prisoner before the crowd gathered outside the police station could beat him to death.

(ii) Plough back
Meaning:
Use in sentence: The successful businessman did never use his profits but in further dealing; he was adroit in ploughing back. 

(iii) Eager beaver
Meaning:
Use in sentence: Ali was an eager beaver for everything for he treated his life like a treasure and made the best out of every moment.

(iv) Ring a bell
Meaning:
Use in sentence: Ifra’s shoe rang a bell in Asna’s head but she could not remember where she had seen it before.

(v) Be left holding the baby
Meaning:
Use in sentence: The performer on the stage was left holding the baby, after his group members refused to perform.

(vi) Cap in hand
Meaning:
Use in sentence: The responsibility of the donation manager was to roam in the city, cap in hand, asking for financial contribution to the company.

(vii) Hold out a carrot
Meaning:
Use in sentence: The landlord held out a carrot of 1000 rupees for each worker for collecting the cotton up to 40kg.

(viii) Over the moon
Meaning:
Use in sentence: Ariel was over the moon when her fiancé proposed to her in a beautiful ceremony.
