Debal was a historic port city located near modern-day Karachi in Pakistan. It was an important center of trade and commerce in the ancient world, serving as a gateway for maritime trade between the Middle East, South Asia, and the Far East. The city flourished during the Arab period in the 8th century and was an important center of Islamic learning and culture. However, the city’s decline began in the 10th century, and it was eventually abandoned.
Today, the site of Debal is located within the boundaries of the modern city of Karachi, and there are ongoing efforts to preserve and protect its archaeological remains. However, there is no new name for Debal as it is an archaeological site and not a contemporary settlement.
